# Fix Common Microsoft 365 Setup and Activation Problems

Most Microsoft 365 setup issues come down to the product key, the account you signed in with, or the internet connection. Find your problem below for a quick fix.

  <Accordion title="My product key doesn't work">
    * Check for look-alike characters such as `B` and `8`, or `O` and `0`.
    * Make sure the key hasn't already been redeemed. If it has, sign in with the account that redeemed it.
    * Confirm the key was purchased from a trusted retailer.

  <Accordion title="The installation is stuck or slow">
    * Use a stable, wired or strong Wi-Fi connection.
    * Restart your device and run the installer again.
    * Temporarily pause VPN software during installation.

    Go to **File** > **Account**, sign out, then sign back in with the account that owns your subscription. Check that the subscription is active at [account.microsoft.com/services](https://account.microsoft.com/services).
