If you bought Microsoft 365 as a card or digital download, you first redeem it at microsoft365.com/setup. Redeeming links the subscription to your Microsoft account so you can install and manage it anytime.

What you need

  • A device with an internet connection
  • Your 25-character product key (printed on the card or in your purchase email)
  • A Microsoft account (Outlook.com, Hotmail, or any email registered with Microsoft)

Redeem your subscription

Open the setup page

Go to microsoft365.com/setup.

Sign in or create an account

Sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don’t have one, select Create one and follow the prompts.

Enter your product key

Type the 25-character key without spaces or dashes, then select your country or region and language.

Confirm

Review your details and confirm. Your subscription now appears in your Microsoft account.
Keep your product key in a safe place. Once redeemed, you won’t need it again, because the subscription is tied to your account.
